From 1994 onward, Hjemmet / Egmont published Werner, a single-issue comic by the celebrated German cartoonist Brösel. Centered on the misadventures of a perpetually unlucky but good-hearted mechanic and his friends, the series captures a distinctively bawdy, working-class humor that became a cultural touchstone in Germany. Brösel's signature scratchy, expressive art style and the strip's long-running popularity in the magazine Werner made this one-shot a key entry in the character's enduring legacy.
