Although announced by Star Publications, Inc. in 1951, Western Crime Cases never saw a single issue published, remaining a planned but unreleased title from the early days of the publisher's expansion into genre comics. Its very existence—as a title meant to blend Western and crime fiction—speaks to the era's experimentation with hybrid genres, even if it never reached newsstands.
