Western Thrillers

Superior’s Western Thrillers ran for just four issues from 1948 to 1949, a brief but punchy entry into the postwar Western-comic boom. Artist Sol Brodsky, later a key Marvel staffer, lent his clean, energetic style to the series’ tales of frontier justice and showdowns. Though short-lived, it’s a snapshot of the era’s appetite for saddle-and-six-gun adventures before the genre’s golden age crested.
