About the series
From 1950 to 1959, L. Miller & Son revived Whiz Comics for an 81-issue run, carrying forward the spirit of the original Fawcett title through a mix of superhero, adventure, and humor stories. The series is most closely associated with writer Otto Binder and artist C. C. Beck, whose work on the Captain Marvel family anchored the book, while Kurt Schaffenberger and Anthony Cataldo provided steady artistic support across the decade. Though less celebrated than its 1940s predecessor, this run kept the Marvel Family alive for a new generation of British readers.
