Wildtöter

In 1955, Gerstmayer launched Wildtöter, a German comic series that ran for 12 issues, following the adventures of a frontiersman in the untamed wilderness. The series is most closely associated with artist Willi Kohlhoff, whose detailed, atmospheric work defined its gritty, outdoor aesthetic. As a mid-century European take on the Western genre, Wildtöter stands as a distinct and influential entry in German-language comics, capturing a rugged era of survival and exploration.
