About the series
In the late 1980s, Brazilian publisher Editora Globo launched Xuxa, a comic series starring the country's most beloved children's television host. Running for 69 issues through 1995, the title adapted the singer and presenter's colorful, educational TV universe into monthly adventures, with Xuxa herself as the protagonist alongside her signature cast of characters. While many artists contributed, the series is most closely associated with illustrator and writer Sérgio M. do Vale, who helped define its playful, energetic visual style.
