Across 33 issues from 1962 to 1970, Western Publishing’s Yogi Bear comic brought the beloved, picnic-basket-snatching Jellystone Park resident to the printed page. Anchored by the cartoonish, energetic art of Harvey Eisenberg, Pete Alvarado, and Kay Wright, and the reliably funny scripts of Michael Maltese and Jerry Belson, the series captured the gentle, gag-driven spirit of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
