About the series
Joan Cornellà’s Zonzo (2015–present) is a single-issue, wordless comic that distills the artist’s signature, deadpan surrealism into a concentrated dose of pitch-black humor. Published as a standalone work, it presents a series of grotesque, brightly colored vignettes exploring modern anxiety, social absurdity, and casual violence with a deceptively cheerful cartoon style. As the creator most associated with the book, Cornellà writes and draws every page, cementing Zonzo as a definitive statement of his uniquely uncomfortable comedic voice in contemporary comics.
