About the series
In the late 1960s, France’s Société Française de Presse Illustrée (SFPI) brought the legendary masked swordsman to European newsstands with a long-running series that spanned 107 issues from 1968 to 1977. While many creators contributed over its decade-long run, the title became most associated with artist Robert Rigot, whose dynamic, swashbuckling style defined the look of the California fox.
