Who is Blabbermouse?

Right at the dawn of the Golden Age, when Dell Comics was busy translating beloved animated characters onto the printed page, Blabbermouse made their debut in the very first issue of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies Comics in 1941 — and that premiere issue alone carries the weight of a key collector's milestone. Created by Win Smith, this chatty little character carved out a niche in one of the era's most energetic funny-animal titles, sharing those early pages with an extraordinary roster including Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Sniffles. The run may be brief — just a handful of appearances across 1941–42 — but for Golden Age enthusiasts, there's something genuinely charming about a character who got their start in such storied company, in such a landmark issue, at the very moment comic books were finding their footing as a medium all their own.
