Kalibar stepped onto the comics scene in 1983, born from the Bronze Age imaginations of Mary Jo Duffy and Bret Blevins in the pages of Marvel's The Saga of Crystar, Crystal Warrior — one of that era's most visually distinctive fantasy titles. Over the series' run through 1985, this character kept vivid company with the likes of Crystar, Moltar, Zardeth, and Warbow, inhabiting a richly conceived world where Marvel's fantasy ambitions ran wild.
