Batman: Gotham by Gaslight - A League for Justice #6 (2026)
Andy Diggle is a British comics writer perhaps best recognized for his creator-owned thriller series The Losers and his work on Green Arrow for DC Comics, though his output spans multiple publishers and genres across more than two decades of consistent activity.
Before establishing himself as a writer, Diggle served as editor of the storied British weekly anthology 2000 AD, a position that gave him an unusually grounded understanding of the industry before he transitioned to scripting full-time. His early writing credits at DC included Adam Strange and a well-regarded run on Hellblazer for the Vertigo imprint. At Marvel he tackled Thunderbolts and Daredevil, demonstrating an affinity for morally complicated characters operating in high-stakes environments.
Beyond the major publishers, Diggle wrote Gamekeeper for Virgin Comics — developed from a concept by filmmaker Guy Ritchie — and contributed several short arcs to IDW's Doctor Who series. He also spent roughly three years writing Robert Kirkman's Image title Thief of Thieves and produced two James Bond mini-series for Dynamite. More recently he contributed to The Expanse: Dragon Tooth, reflecting a continued range of interests.
With writing credits on 241 issues between 2003 and 2026, Diggle has built a reputation as a reliable, craft-conscious storyteller drawn to action-driven narratives and genre work executed with care.
