Bob Camp
1956–
Bob Camp is an American animator, writer, and comic book artist best known as a co-founder of Spümcø and the showrunner for the groundbreaking *The Ren & Stimpy Show*. Born in 1956, he began his career in comics in 1981, working as an artist, colorist, and inker across 58 issues. His most credited titles include *Conan the Barbarian*, *The Savage Sword of Conan*, and *G.I. Joe*, where he contributed to the gritty, dynamic look of the 1980s. Camp's signature style—bold, expressive, and often grotesque—translated perfectly to animation, where he helped define the chaotic energy of Ren and Stimpy. He earned two Emmy nominations, a CableACE Award nomination, and an Annie Award nomination for his work on the series. Beyond animation, Camp remained active in comics into the 2020s, leaving a mark on both the page and the screen. His legacy endures as a key figure in the 1990s animation renaissance, influencing a generation of cartoonists with his unapologetically raw and humorous visual storytelling.
