Christopher Hinz was born on March 10, 1951, in the United States. He is best known for his science fiction work, particularly the Paratwa trilogy, and for his contributions to comic books during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Hinz entered comics after establishing himself as a novelist, winning the Compton Crook Award in 1988 for *Liege-Killer*, the first book of the Paratwa series.

In comics, Hinz created the nine-issue series *Gemini Blood* for DC Comics' Helix imprint, illustrated by Tommy Lee Edwards, which ran from 1996 to 1997 and explored themes and characters similar to his Paratwa novels. He also co-created and wrote the four-issue limited series *Dead Corps* for Helix, and penned a ten-issue story arc for Marvel's *Blade*, which comprised the character's second volume. His other credits include work on *Star Trek Special*. Active in comics from 1996 to 2002, Hinz wrote for 20 issues across these titles.

After his comic book work, Hinz continued writing fiction. His legacy rests on his award-winning Paratwa trilogy and his distinctive, darkly imaginative contributions to DC and Marvel's genre comics.
