“V3s”

In "V3s," Blade faces a chilling new threat as the Tryk queen sets her sights on him—not for conquest, but for consumption, seeking to devour him to birth a new queen. With his new romance with Susan complicating matters and his trust in allies like Fofo shattered, Blade is hunted through the shadows, forced to confront the brutal truth behind a trap that twists loyalty into betrayal. Written by Christopher Hinz and illustrated with sharp, atmospheric detail by Steve Pugh—his inks and Atomic Paintbrush’s colors heightening the dread—this issue delivers a tense, personal spiral of paranoia and peril, all under Tim Bradstreet’s striking cover.

The seven reveal that the queen of the Tryks wants Blade for her mate so that she can devour him and produce another queen. Blade goes on a date with his new girlfriend Susan and tells her that the vampires tricked him into slaying his former lover with a sword by drugging her and outfitting her with contact lenses and fake fangs. The vampires capture Fofo, Blade's weapons supplier, and place a tracking device on him so that he will lead them to Blade after they dump him in the river. The vampires get the drop on Blade and capture him.
