Sam Kweskin, born Irving Samuel Kweskin on February 24, 1924, in the United States, was an American artist who moved between advertising and comic books. He is best remembered for his work at Marvel Comics, where he contributed as an artist, inker, and occasionally a writer from 1953 into the mid-1970s. Kweskin sometimes used the pen name Irv Wesley. His credits span 15 issues, with notable appearances in *Sub-Mariner*, *Uncanny Tales*, *Crypt of Shadows*, *Daredevil*, *Dracula*, and *Astonishing*. His style was solid and workmanlike, fitting the house look of the era, and he often collaborated with writers and editors shaping Marvel’s supernatural and superhero titles. While not a household name, Kweskin’s steady hand helped define the visual tone of many pre- and early-silver age stories. He passed away on June 23, 2005, at the age of 81. No major awards are recorded for him, but his contributions remain part of the foundational texture of Marvel’s monster and mystery comics.
