Crypt of Shadows #16
In "He Lurks in the Shadows," writer Carl Wessler and artist Sam Kweskin deliver a chilling twist on a classic crime tale, where a killer’s final act of desperation leads him down a dark alley—only to be struck from behind. With a wife who shares his deadly trade for reasons of her own, the line between love and murder blurs in this tense, atmospheric story from a 25-cent comic in 1975. Cover by Ron Wilson and Mike Esposito captures the dread with a stark, shadow-drenched image.
