Si Spencer
Si Spencer (1961 – 16 February 2021) was a British comic book writer, television dramatist, and editor. Born in the United Kingdom, he began his comics career in the late 1980s, contributing to British anthology titles such as *Crisis*. He is best known for his work on *Bodies*, a time-jumping murder mystery miniseries drawn by Dean Ormston, Tula Lotay, Meghan Hetrick, and Phil Winslade, which later inspired a Netflix adaptation. Spencer also wrote *The Vinyl Underground*, a psychedelic horror series set during the Vietnam War, and *Books of Magick: Life During Wartime*, a dark fantasy spin-off from the Sandman universe. His other notable credits include *Hellblazer: City of Demons*, *Slash & Burn*, and *Sideshow Comics*. Spencer frequently collaborated with artist Dean Ormston, and his scripts often blended supernatural elements with social commentary and pop-culture references. He moved into the American comics industry in the 2000s, maintaining a steady output until 2016. Beyond comics, he worked as a writer on the British television series *EastEnders*. Spencer died on 16 February 2021 at age 59.
