Project 1073 Record Card

Β· September 11, 1956

This document is not a pulp magazine but rather official U.S. Air Force Project 10073 (Blue Book) UFO report forms from 1952. The content describes a single unidentified aerial sighting reported on September 11, 1952, near Cartwright, Labrador. A witness observed a banana-shaped object approximately the diameter of a pencil and two inches long, displaying multicolored lights, traveling southeast while slowly rising over a forty-minute period. The observer used binoculars after the initial sighting and reported clear conditions at observation time with variable surface light. Ground visual observation was employed. The military conclusion tentatively attributed the sighting to probable auroral streamers, though "no known possibilities" ultimately closed the investigation. The report was transmitted between multiple Air Defense Command facilities and ATIC (Air Technical Intelligence Center).
