# Museum Catalog Note

Authentic Science Fiction Monthly, Volume 1, No. 45 (May 1954). This issue features Kenneth Bulmer's novella "Some Other Time," concerning Dr. Carpenter, a dying researcher on Mars who oversees a program breeding children genetically adapted to Martian life. As bizarre phenomena escalate—a water tap that curls itself and sprays water, a doll that walks—Carpenter struggles to conceal these anomalies from a visiting congressional committee while racing against his terminal illness to complete his work. The issue also includes short fiction by E.C. Tubb ("Death Deferred"), George Paul Mann ("Third Hand"), and Graham Winslow ("Dimensional Destiny"), alongside non-fiction features: C.V. Jackson on medical progress by 2000 A.D., Brian W. Aldiss on writing science fiction, John Tayne on comets, Frank Wilson on logic, and an article on atomic submarines.
