The narrative follows an eighteen-year-old protagonist, son of General Vane, who flees psychosecurity forces with a twisted ankle through abandoned transit tunnels, haunted by a vivid dream of the devastated surface world above.

Additional stories include Ron Elton's humorous science fiction piece "Outside Looking In," Dan Morgan's "Psychic Twin," M.C. Woodhouse's "The Higher Mathematics" (first in a series), and D.R. Davies' "The Merchants," examining relativity of values.

Puttick examines expanding universe theories (competition-winning entry), Pat O'Hara addresses robots, and Peter Summers explores future legal problems concerning space travel.
