# Museum Catalog Note

El Planeta de «No Volverás» (The Planet of No Return), translated and published by Editorial Bruguera in 1983, is a science fiction novel set in a rigidly hierarchical future society governed by alphanumeric code designations. The narrative follows Randy Boothe (UEPA-003–4732-VB), a disgraced pilot and astronaut expelled from the Space Unit, who is coerced into an unspecified mission at the Baker spaceport in California. There he encounters Janis Pryce (UEAB-014–2371-HB), a female exobiologist and astronaut similarly expelled for refusing collaboration on a destructive Mars project. Both have received mysterious injections they discover contain Cokhesymil, a hibernation drug, indicating they will be placed in suspended animation. The narrative depicts futuristic transportation (spherical cabins, Wook-Jet aircraft traveling at Mach-3), bureaucratic oppression, and hints at broader political conflict between tyrannical government and revolutionary groups.
