# Brigitte en Acción
This Spanish spy fiction serial by Lou Carrigan (1968) follows intelligence operative Brigitte Montfort, alias "Baby," a CIA agent deployed to Florida's Keys. The narrative opens with Brigitte conducting surveillance disguised as an overweight blonde water-skier; she deliberately falls to make contact with fellow agent Simón aboard a yacht. Removing her padding and wig, Brigitte receives her assignment: monitor General Malcom Manchester, a distinguished fifty-six-year-old U.S. Navy officer turned senator. Manchester recently obtained false French documentation under the name Pierre Civette and has booked passage aboard the Atlantic Sea to Rabat, Morocco. CIA psychologists detect unexplained sadness in the previously successful general despite his wealth, accomplishments, and recent marriage to a younger, socially active wife. His sudden withdrawal from political visibility troubles the agency. Brigitte's mission is surveillance while the general and his wife remain at the beach resort.
