En busca de la prehistoria (Indiana James, 1985) is an adventure serial featuring Indiana James, a quip-prone adventurer. The narrative opens with James marooned on a barren island for days, enduring thirst, hunger, and failed rescue attempts by a hydroplane. He is finally retrieved by Virginia Jane Scapin ("Virgin"), a dangerous woman armed with whip and revolver, and her red-haired associate carrying an AR-15. Scapin coerces the weakened James into a partnership related to an unspecified venture involving millionaire Harriford Jones and a cryptic seventeenth-century message about treasure worth ten million dollars in gold doubloons. After hospitalization, James is transported to a Canadian lake encampment where powerful figures—some known from society pages, others deliberately avoiding publicity—have assembled. Among them is "Macho" Gómez, a South American cocaine trafficker and deposed dictator whom James previously helped overthrow. Gómez orders James's execution, though another attendee intervenes, insisting James is needed for their operation.
