# New Worlds Science Fiction (April 1960)
This issue contains six science fiction stories. "Dogfight" by James White depicts a massive multi-world military fleet assembling and deploying under orders from a tactical computer designated RK9 during an interstellar war between humans and an alien race called the Semrans. The narrative follows Colonel Richard Henson, who is revealed to be a Semran undercover agent embedded in Earth's military hierarchy, desperate to sabotage or steal RK9 before his people lose the war entirely. White explores Henson's psychological conflict between his assumed human identity and his loyalty to his failing civilization.
Other stories include "Deadly Birdcage" by Peter Hawkins, "Ultimate Complex" by Donald Malcolm, "Pseudopath" by Philip E. High, "Beyond Surrealism" by E. R. James, and the novelet "Problem: Survival" by Colin Kapp. The magazine also includes a period advertisement for the Institute of Applied Science's crime detection correspondence course.
