"The Three Sapphires: Part IV" by W.A. Fraser concludes a four-part serial set in India dealing with pro-German plots. Shorter pieces include Henry Herbert Knibbs' "Vig," about an aristocratic dog; Katherine Mayo's "The Patent-Leather Shoes," featuring a Pennsylvania State Police corporal; and "The Silver Fox" by E. Albert Apple, set on Northern trails. George Bronson-Howard contributes "The Black Book: IV—His Country or His Life," part of an ongoing series.
