: # Science Fiction Adventures, June 1958

This issue contains two science fiction short novels and two shorter stories. "The Man from the Big Dark" by John Brunner follows Terak, a pirate ship captain fleeing from the Big Dark—a hundred light-year gap between galactic regions—who lands on Klareth carrying the mutilated corpse of a girl. He disappears into the island population before authorities can apprehend him. The narrative introduces him entering a dockside tavern where he converses with soldiers about General Janlo's campaign against planetary rebels, extracting strategic information through casual questioning.

"The World of Almi Made" by Harry Harrison concerns attempts to kill Brek, a "Profession man," on the planet Dubhe IV—his contract can only be voided through his death. The issue also includes "3117 Half-Credit Uncirculated" by Alexander Blade and "The Reluctant Traitor" by Ralph Burke. Regular departments include editorials on science fiction's role in public perception of scientists, a book review section, and reader correspondence. Cover illustration by Ed Emsh.
