This issue of the science fiction pulp magazine contains five short stories and two novelettes. "The Loathsome Beasts" by Dan Malcolm depicts the sudden invasion of a peaceful Earth colony on the planet Lincoln by enormous amphibious sea creatures, eight to nine feet tall with powerful jaws and fangs. The first attack occurs when swimmers on a beach are ambushed; a teenage girl named Diane is killed and devoured, followed by more colonists, prompting mass panic. "The Man Who Could Levitate" by Abraham Stern features a protagonist named Jan with extraordinary telekinetic powers requiring careful control. "The Monsters Came by Night" by Charles D. Hammer involves creatures arriving to inflict revenge; "Asteroid of Horror" by James Rosenquest centers on a space asteroid serving as feeding ground for an abominable entity; "Flying Saucers in the Sea" by F. X. Fallon presents skin-divers in underwater adventures; and "The Great Secret" by George H. Smith explores forbidden knowledge. The issue also includes nonfiction features on anti-gravity research attributed to Russia and "Science Shorts" commentary.
