Edited by Leslie Charteris, this issue features five mystery and detective stories by celebrated authors. "The Fast Women" by Charteris himself introduces Simon Templar (the Saint) at the Nassau auto races, where he encounters Cynthia Quillen, a wealthy woman seeking his aid to eliminate her husband's romantic rival, the exotic Teresa Montesino. Additional stories include Graham Greene's "When Greek Meets Greek," G.K. Chesterton's "The Crime of the Communist," and Margery Allingham's "The Case of the Widow." Octavus Roy Cohen contributes "Magnificent Liar," while Murray Leinster—making his first appearance in the magazine—offers "Death in the Jungle," set in the Solomon Islands. Lloyd Arthur Eshbach's "Murder by Hex" is set in Pennsylvania Dutch country. Josephine Bell provides "Case of the Faulty Drier," and Hans Stefan Santesson contributes regular column "What's New in Crime."
