"The Bat-Men of Thorium" by Bertram Russell opens a three-part serial about a giant submarine expedition to unexplored Pacific Ocean depths, equipped with Klieg and ultraviolet lights to study unusual marine life and undiscovered civilizations. "The Skeleton Under the Lamp" by Bassett Morgan presents a hypnosis tale involving strange orgies. Other stories include Robert E. Howard's "Sea Curse," detailing a maritime curse affecting sailors; "The Hand of the Invisible" by E. Irvine Haines, set in a Cuban cemetery; "Riders in the Sky" by Schorer and Derleth about an archaeologist witnessing ancient Babylonian rituals; and "Three Coffins," a West Indian tale by Arthur J. Burks. Murray Leinster's three-part serial "The Strange People" concludes, exploring mystery among a secretive people.
