“Walter y el Chino tienen un problema”

"Walter y el Chino tienen un problema" delivers a striking, mythic tale from Pablo Berman and Leandro De Rissio, where the Roman war god Marte flees to a wild forest seeking peace, only to be hunted by legionaries driven by Rome’s relentless expansion. As the forest’s ancient spirit, Xim (or Rin), stands against the invaders, the story unfolds with quiet intensity, probing the clash between destiny and understanding. Guillermo Altayrac’s evocative cover captures the tension, while the interior art by De Rissio brings the mythic struggle to life in a 2002 release that remains a standout in Albiacomics’ catalog.

Marte, depicted as a Roman war god, seeks refuge and peace in a dense forest. Roman legionaries pursue him, urged by political and religious authority to bring him back to fulfill Rome’s expansionist destiny. The forest deity, Xim (or Rin), confronts the Romans and argues that they destroy what they do not understand. Despite appeals for peace and warnings about destiny, the Romans attack. The forest defends itself violently, and the narrative closes with the message that no man nor god can escape fate, and that all are merely visitors in history.
