Agrippine #6
Claire Bretécher's sharp-eyed comedy series returns with *Agrippine et la Secte à Raymonde*, and the cover sets the tone perfectly: a wide-eyed, spiky-haired Agrippine sprints in her striped top and chunky boots while a lurching, grinning mob of yellow-robed figures reaches out after her — even a startled black cat is caught up in the chaos. Bretécher's loose, expressive line work captures teenage panic and absurdity in equal measure, promising the same witty social satire that has made this French series such a pleasure. A delightful 2001 entry in one of bande dessinée's most charming portraits of adolescent life.
