All-American Comics #23
In "The Sins of the Father," Alan Scott investigates a troubling connection between a movie star and a notorious racketeer, uncovering a secret that ties Delia Day to her father, Al Maloney—once a powerful crime boss. Written by Bill Finger and illustrated by E. E. Hibbard, this 1941 tale blends noir intrigue with early Green Lantern mystery, as the hero races to protect those caught in a web of blackmail and betrayal. The story's tension builds through a dramatic confrontation that leaves both the past and present hanging in the balance. Cover by Sheldon Moldoff.

Accompanying Irene on an interview with movie star Delia Day, Alan Scott becomes suspicious, spying her talking to hoodlum "Slug" Kafey. Taking action as Green Lantern, Scott discovers that Day is being blackmailed because her father is actually racketeer Al Maloney. GL interviews Maloney in prison and finds that Frankie Fowler is the only other person who knows the connection between the two and races to find Fowler, but Delia is already there paying the blackmail. Fowler forces GL to surrender to save Delia, but Maloney bursts in, there is an exchange of gunfire, and both men are killed.
