Both the Justice Society and the All-Star Squadron head to Pearl Harbor. After surveying the damage, most of the heroes leave intending to destroy the Japanese fleet. On the way, those most vulnerable to magic come under the influence of the Holy Grail, in the possession of Tojo. Just as the Spear of Destiny gives Hitler control over the heroes in Europe, the Grail puts the heroes under the control of Japan. As the controlled heroes fight those still free, Dr. Fate pursues Hawkman outside the reach of the Grail, comes to his senses, and sends the Winged Wonder to lure the others to safety.
