Amelia has a bitterly disappointing visit with her father in New York, but the Gurley Girls ask Tanner to tour with them as their opener. Amelia invites Kyle to their first concert together, but once again he arrives with another girl. On the day of Tanner's departure, Kyle and Amelia quarrel in the park, but when he breaks his leg she stays with him until help arrives, missing Tanner's departure. Tanner leaves a loving letter promising Amelia a gift, which turns out to be her dad, who quit his job and rented Tanner's house so as to be near once again to his daughter.
