“Le justicier des mers”

In "Le justicier des mers," Aquaman faces a peculiar new hero in the form of Bobo, a well-meaning but unorthodox fire chief whose antics take an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a trio of missing convicts hiding in the woods. Written by John Broome and brought to life with dynamic art by Carmine Infantino and inks by Joe Giella, this 1974 adventure blends humor and heroism as Bobo’s makeshift firefighting tactics accidentally lead to a capture—much to the Sheriff’s surprise. The cover by Nick Cardy captures the zany energy of the story, making this a standout issue in the series’ early run.

Bobo's latest craze is firefighting, but he fails basic tests and is turned down. He buys a miniature fire engine and beats the real firefighters every time. The Sheriff could use help finding three missing convicts, but Bobo keeps racing off. He spots a fire in the woods - a campfire where the convicts hide out! He sprays them with foam and tonks them with a ladder as the Sheriff arrives. Now even the Sheriff helps polish the fire truck. "Who am I to question his methods? The point is he catches crooks!"
