Written by Robert Kanigher and illustrated with bold precision by Jan Duursema, with colors by Adrienne Roy and letters by Janice Chiang, this 1982 DC adventure delivers raw tension and heart-pounding action. The cover, by Ernie Colón, captures the moment’s intensity with striking detail.

Jon and his motley band of followers arrive at the castle of Krogg the red, where Alisa is being held captive. With the help of a giant hawk, Jon gains the walls of the castle and fights his way to the room where Krogg is just beginning to force himself on Alisa. Krogg threatens to kill her if Jon doesn't lay down his sword, and Jon can only agree to do so. Horrified, Alisa leaps to her death from a nearby window to force Jon to fight for his life.
