“Bad Breaks on Bongo Beach”

In "Bad Breaks on Bongo Beach," Archie, Mr. Weatherbee, and his dog Spotty try their luck fishing under the stars at Bongo Beach, while Mr. Lodge and Veronica entertain a high-stakes client on the waters nearby. When Dilton arrives with a wild new rocket-powered fishing lure, things take a hilarious turn as the device launches Archie skyward—straight into Mr. Lodge’s boat. Written and illustrated by Bob Bolling, with inks by Chic Stone, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Bill Yoshida, this 1985 adventure features a delightfully chaotic twist, all wrapped in Dan DeCarlo’s classic cover art with Jim DeCarlo’s inks.

Archie, Mr. Weatherbee and Archie's dog Spotty are out on Bongo Beach fishing at night, while Mr. Lodge is out on his fishing boat with Veronica and an important client. Dilton arrives to show Archie a special rocket that will enable his fishing lure to reach farther out, and the rocket winds up taking Archie into the air and, eventually, into Mr. Lodge's boat.
