“Life's No Picnic”

In "Life's No Picnic," Archie’s attempt to sneak out of bed with a cold to meet Veronica sets off a chain of misunderstandings when Betty, sent to care for him, overhears ambulance chatter and thinks the worst—only to discover Archie’s safe and sound at Pop Tate’s, where he’s sharing a milkshake with Veronica. Samm Schwartz’s expressive art brings the classic teenage chaos to life, while Bob Montana’s iconic cover captures the moment with his signature charm.

Mrs. Andrews orders Archie to bed due to a cold, but that doesn't stop him from sneaking out to keep a date with Veronica. When Betty comes over to take care of Archie, she mishears some ambulance drivers parked outside the Andrews house and thinks Archie has died, but when she phones Pop Tate's and learns he's there with Veronica, she gets her revenge.
