Archie (Jumbo Comics) Double Digest #232
In "Out on a Limb!", Archie’s ever-resourceful pal Jo finds herself caught in a whirlwind of bureaucratic chaos when Mr. Lodge reveals the bizarre chain of government mandates that have turned his factory into a surreal puzzle of pink paint, health warnings, and hand-scraped chemicals. Written by Rich Margopoulos and brought to life with vibrant energy by Stan Goldberg, Rudy Lapick, Barry Grossman, and Bill Yoshida, this quirky tale unfolds with the kind of offbeat humor that defines the Archie universe. The cover, a classic DeCarlo duo effort, captures the zany tone perfectly.

Mr. Lodge tells Veronica about how the government has controlled his factory. Apparently, the Defense Department told him to get ahead of schedule on widget production and to paint the factory pink to cheer up the workers. Then, the Labor Department told him to remove the paint because at above 120 degrees, the paint gives off an odor harmful to lab monkeys. Then, he is told not to wash it off because the chemical could enter the city water supply. Instead, it has to be scraped off by hand and stored in metal drums.
