“Mask Me No Questions”

In "Mask Me No Questions," Jughead’s unexpected inheritance claim sends Reggie into a frenzy of over-the-top generosity—buying malteds, handing out cash, and even selling a cow to a farmer, all to curry favor. But when the truth about the will comes out, Reggie’s scheme unravels in a series of increasingly absurd missteps, leaving him scrambling to reclaim his money and restore the cow. Bill Vigoda’s expressive art brings the whole chaotic situation to life, capturing the humor and heart of this classic 1953 Archie tale.

When Jughead is named as an heir in his uncle's will, Reggie thinks Jughead has inherited money. He buys him malteds at the Choklit Shop and lets him have cash, ensuring him that it's not a loan, to get in Jughead's good graces in hopes of getting part of the inheritance. When he realizes that Jughead's uncle is still alive, Reggie wants the money back, so he pays five dollars to a farmer for his cow. He sells the "meat" to Jughead, but when Jughead sees that it's a cow, he's not disappointed. To settle things with the farmer, Reggie has to pay twenty dollars to get the cow back from Jughead.
