Atomic Mouse #28
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAtomic Mouse says goodbye to the President and embarks on a vacation, but a long trip lies ahead and spring seems far behind. In the story "Atomic Mouse Out of Shape," Atomic Mouse demonstrates physical fitness exercises to a group of younger mice, but they struggle with their postures and need practice to improve their form. The issue also includes "Captain Corey's Curiosity Corner," an educational feature offering instructions for making maps without yeast and a story about a magic handkerchief that can repair broken items.
When a mystical bronze cat with time-travel powers is stolen from a museum along with a mummy and priceless jewels, Atomic Mouse tracks the thieves—Count Gatto and Shadow—down a river stream. The crooks accidentally activate the cat's strange magic and find themselves transported back to ancient Egypt, where they're forced to labor on a pharaoh's pyramid. Atomic Mouse must recover the dangerous artifact before its power spirals further out of control.
When two scheming cats steal Father Time's hourglass for Mouseville, they trap the town in an endless winter—but they didn't count on Atomic Mouse returning from vacation to set things right. Racing against a frozen landscape and dwindling food supplies, our hero must recover the stolen timepiece and restore spring before Mouseville runs out of hope. It's a race against the clock (literally) in this 1958 adventure that proves some seasons can't be delayed for long.
When a young mouse pulls a glowing, mysterious machine from a river and learns it can bring anything to life—a poster, a picture, even a circus advertisement—the friends see a perfect solution to their money troubles. But their scheme to use the machine to see the circus quickly spirals into chaos when they accidentally bring a fierce lion to life and trigger a swarm of bats, turning what should've been a fun day into a wild escape. This 1958 tale of "True to Life" proves that even the cleverest shortcut can backfire when you're not careful with the consequences.
Atomic Mouse volunteers to coach a group of out-of-shape youngsters at school, concerned about their poor fitness and lack of endurance. When the children show little interest in exercise, he announces a contest with a prize trip to Mouseville Amusement Park for anyone who passes his physical-fitness tests—and one dedicated young mouse rises to the challenge in unexpected ways. As the other kids witness what determination can accomplish, they learn that getting in shape takes real commitment.
