Atomic Mouse travels to Japan on a goodwill mission, where his host Mr. Takamatsu shows him the peaceful countryside—until a thief steals a sacred dragon needed for an upcoming parade. When Atomic Mouse tracks down the culprit, he discovers it's the troublemaking Count Gatto, who claims he only wanted it as a souvenir, and must decide how to handle the situation according to Japanese tradition.

With help from the weather bureau and some clever detective work, our hero traces the falling leaves to an underground hideout where Count Gatto and Shadow have been stashing their stolen goods.
