Batman: Crimson Mist #[nn]
The concluding chapter of Doug Moench, Kelley Jones, John Beatty, and Gregory Wright's Elseworlds vampire trilogy, *Batman: Crimson Mist* brings a genuinely unsettling vision of the Dark Knight to its grim finale. Kelley Jones and John Beatty's cover says everything you need to know about the tone: a monstrous, cape-draped Batman looms over a moonlit graveyard, his claws outstretched and fanged mouth agape against a deep purple sky, gravestones and Celtic crosses clustered around him like grim sentinels. It's a haunting image that perfectly captures the horror-drenched Elseworlds sensibility this creative team brought to all three books in the series.
