Batman: Crimson Mist #[nn]
A brooding graveyard at twilight sets the stage for *Batman: Crimson Mist*, DC's 1999 hardcover collaboration from writer Doug Moench and artist Kelley Jones, with inks by John Beatty. The cover — rendered by Jones and Beatty — depicts a massive, dark-winged figure looming over a cemetery, its jagged cloak spreading across tombstones and a stone cross beneath a pale blue sky, every angular line radiating menace and gothic unease. Moench and Jones brought a distinctly horror-drenched sensibility to the Batman mythos, and this handsome hardcover edition is a fine showcase for that vision.
