Betty and Me #54
In "Faith," Archie stands by his friend Betty when a mysterious note claims she's run off to join a hippie commune—something he just knows she wouldn't do. While Reggie and Veronica jump to conclusions, Archie's unwavering belief is tested when the truth unfolds: Betty’s been mistaken for Veronica and taken by the son of a disgruntled Lodge employee. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life with Dan DeCarlo’s signature style—penciled and inked by DeCarlo and Rudy Lapick, colored by Barry Grossman, and lettered by Bill Yoshida—this 1973 gem features a heartfelt moment of trust and a twist rooted in mistaken identity. The cover, also by Dan DeCarlo and Rudy Lapick, captures the drama with its expressive characters and classic Archie flair.

The Coopers get a note saying that Betty has run off to join a hippie commune. Reggie and Veronica assume the letter is true, but Archie has faith in Betty and believes that she couldn't do anything as bad as that. He's right: it turns out Betty has been mistaken for Veronica (again) and kidnapped by the son of a disgruntled Lodge employee.
