Written by Kathleen Webb and illustrated by Jeff Shultz, with inks by Al Milgrom, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Jack Morelli, the issue’s cover by Jeff Shultz and Al Milgrom captures the moment just before the adventure begins.

Veronica invites Betty to a banquet where royalty will be present. Betty prepares for the occasion when Jughead informs her that the only banquet in Riverdale that night is for a dog lovers show. Betty then decides not to get as dressed up, especially if it’s just a dog show. When Veronica and her parents pick Betty up at the house, Veronica then tells her that the banquet is in New York City and they'll be flying there. And Betty wonders what to do with all the dog biscuits in her purse.
