Bullets bounce harmlessly off the apparition, and the Kid must decide whether the legend is real or if someone far more dangerous is working the con.

Billy the Kid tangles with a ruthless land baron named Kurt Stiletto, whose twisted sense of humor—he weeps instead of laughs—has terrorized the valley's small ranchers with deadly traps and a rattlesnake. When a desperate victim begs for help, Billy accepts the challenge to face Stiletto and put an end to his cruel games once and for all.

Billy the Kid gets drawn into a spirited ball game with a group of young players, but when one of them is bitten by a rattlesnake during play, the tribe blames him for the tragedy and demands he face a ritualistic trial to save the boy's life.
