In "Bull of the Woods," the Cartwrights push hard to deliver lumber for the railroad, their lead threatened by rival Tom Bannerman, who seeks to claim the title of "bull of the woods" by any means. When Bannerman sabotages their skid road and then targets their makeshift overhead transfer rig, tensions rise—until a sudden bear attack changes everything. Hoss Cartwright saves Bannerman’s life, and in the aftermath, a grudging respect emerges between the rivals, leaving Ben Cartwright to stand as the true champion of the woods.

When Bedrock Barnes discovers old Spanish armor in a cave and tries it on, he unwittingly becomes a ghostly figure in the dark—scaring off stage robbers who’ve hidden their stolen Wells Fargo loot inside. The robbers flee in terror at the sight of the armored man and the eerie braying of Lonesome the mule. Realizing the stolen goods are from the express company, Bedrock sets out to return them, armed with nothing but his wits and the strange legend he’s just become.
