After Captain Marvel finds a way to plug the lava flow, he pursues Mr. Mind and Jeepers underground, where he meets a race of small people called the Sub-Americans, who have planned to use dynamite to split the western hemisphere from the eastern hemisphere if the Allied forces are endangered by the Nazis. Mr. Mind finds out about the dynamite and plans to use it for his own purposes.
